Tempers flared at a recent Wildwood Commission meeting because Commissioner Gary DeMarzo wrote ill-advised letters to the media and governmental entities concerning a trivial issue. He wasted everyone’s time while real issues continue to be evaded, especially the financial condition of the community and the state.
Jack Fichter's excellent article on "Local Produce Helps Slow Food Win Fans" was accurate in every aspect but one: we are the South Jersey Slow Food Convivium.
Wildwood is rumored to be getting one of the two betting parlors allotted to the three-county South Jersey sector, which includes Atlantic County, Cumberland County and Cape May County. Conjecture over the location being Wildwood or Middle abounds.
Who says the current government's policies do not have a trickle down economic effect? I used to say there was no trickling going on.
Thanks for the educational, entertaining and inspirational editorials by your publisher, Art Hall. Obviously, Hall is a devout, religious, conservative fellow.
I believe that you missed the point with your opinion about what the mayor did at the last meeting to Commissioner Scott Golden.
I just read Art Hall's column "To Fellow Con-servatives Upon the Elec-tion of Barack Obama" and Jim Vanore's "Meas-ure of Balance" column on Chase Utely's "Uh Oh" in the Nov. 12 Her-ald.
In response to Commissioner William Davenport’s letter in the Nov. 5 Herald: Many taxpayers and citizens have faithfully attended and expressed their suggestions and opinions at commissioner meetings only to be maligned or ignored.
In a county that has a multitude of services for the underprivileged, the physically handicapped, and the mentally challenged, why do I find it lack-ing in the basic care of such individuals?
Now that Cape May County has the highest suicide rate in New Jersey, it is time that we have a psychiatric unit at our local hospital.

The Avalon Public Library has a unique method of reducing the damage and loss of books and it is quite simple. All books on the bottom shelves throughout the stacks are turned on their ends.
Publisher Art Hall's request of fellow Republicans to give president-elect Barack Obama "the benefit of the doubt" would have felt more genuine, if he just hadn't resorted to raising some of those doubts.
It has been brought to my attention that I made an inaccurate statement during my public statement at the recent City Council meeting on Nov.12 at Cape May City Hall.
I am always impressed and inspired by the events of the Cape May Jazz Festival, which was held Nov. 7-9.

In response to the Oct. 29 column of Publisher Art Hall, I’d like to say Bush was not qualified from the beginning. And proved to be unqualified in the ensuing years.
